chicken cheesesteak

Growing up outside Philadelphia, the chicken cheesesteak was a staple of my childhood. When I moved to Texas and couldn't find one, I knew I had to recreate it myself. This recipe is easy, healthy, and hits all the cravings for this delicious, nostalgic food! If you're avoiding the bread part of this, serve over rice or salad, or just eat the hot melty meat and cheese alone. We'll never judge.

chicken cheesesteak

Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

2 .5 tsp cc special

2 Tbsp cooking fat (butter, olive oil, ghee, bacon fat, etc...)

Roll or bread (if desired, or rice/salad/nothing)

Toppings as desired (pickled/sauteed onions or peppers, hot sauce, mushrooms, ketchup, etc...)

Instructions

  1. Heat skillet over medium-high heat. Add cooking fat, ground chicken, and cc special.
  2. Brown meat.
  3. While meat is browning, grate or slice cheese thinly.
