Breakfast sausage is one of our all-time favorite food-prep items. We'll make a few pounds at a time and freeze them, which makes a healthy, high-protein breakfast easy and quick every day. We can't overrate making the mornings simple and starting the day with something nutritious and delicious to set you up for success! Make your daily routine a treat.

herb + pepper breakfast sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground meat (chicken, turkey, pork, etc...), if using poultry we like a dark meat or higher fat grind
  • 2 tsp boro salt
  • 1 tsp putz pepper
  • 1-2 Tbsp cooking fat

Instructions

  1. Mix ground meat with boro salt and putz pepper.
  2. Divide meat and form in to patties. We like to do 2 ounces each - so break the meat in half, then in half again. Voila!
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high. Add cooking fat, then add sausage patties.
  4. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to an internal temperature of 165 F.
