herb-roasted nuts (almonds or cashews)
Our boro salt is just the thing to season roasted nuts. It's often hard to find roasted and salted organic nuts, they're usually raw which is honestly fine... but nuts are so much better roasted and salted. Good thing it's easy to season and roast them yourself at home!ย
Sensory alert! Listen up for the little cracking noises the nuts make while cooling on the counter.
- 2 cups almonds or cashews (or a mix)
- 1 tsp almond, peanut, or sunflower oil
- 2 tsp boro salt
- Preheat oven to 300 F
- Spread nuts in a single layer on a cookie sheet
- Roast for 15 minutes
- Agitate/shake nuts. Roast for another 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven, drizzle with oil and. mix to coat. Sprinkle with boro salt and mix again.
- Roast for 10 more minutes
- Allow nuts to cool completely on parchment paper, then store in an airtight container
The nuts will get crunchier as they cool, resist the urge to over-roast!
